Export Demand For Titanium Dioxide Has Increasing Trend In 2023

1.Demand Growth of Titanium Dioxide in 2023

       Titanium dioxide is an important inorganic chemical material, the main component is TIO2, it plays an essential role in coating, ink, paper, plastic, rubber, chemical fiber, ceramics and other industries. In 2021, the newly increased production capacity of titanium dioxide in China reached 4.495 million tons, it's an increase of 650,000 tons compared with 2020. By the end of 2022, China's titanium dioxide production capacity will be 4.93 million tons, increasing 9.68% vs 2021.

2.Situation Of Import and Export

     Since 2011, China has changed from an import country to an export country of titanium dioxide, the volume of exports is more than 1.04 million tons. According to customs data, China's titanium dioxide exports accumulated 1.40 million tons in China, a year-on-year increase of 7.17%.

    Titanium dioxide import volume in February 2023 was 0.48 million tons, an increase of 32.39% vs Jan 2023, and the average import price is 3578.25 USD/ton, a decrease of 8.32% vs Jan 2023. In February 2023, the export volume of titanium dioxide was 154,200 tons, an increase of 17.19% vs Jan 2023, and the average export price was 2120.02 USD/ton, an increase of 1.06% vs Jan 2023.

3.Downstream Consumption Demand

     In recent years, the apparent demand for titanium dioxide has been increasing in China. The apparent demand in 2021 is 2,740,200 tons, an increase of 274,000 tons compared with 2020. At present, China has became a large country of production, consumption as well as export for titanium dioxide.

       Titanium dioxide is main raw materials for coating. In 2023, the overall economic is about to warm up, titanium dioxide demand is expected to increase, the industry will gradually recover.
